Cookies
Draft — have your adviser confirm before launch. If another analytics tag or any advertising tag is ever added to the shop, name it and its cookies here in the same change.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file the site asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise you on your next page or your next visit. Some are needed for the shop to work at all; others are only set if you agree.
Essential cookies — always on
These keep the shop working and are set without asking, because the site cannot do what you asked without them:
| Cookie | What it does | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Your basket | Remembers which basket is yours while you shop, signed in or not | Until you close your browser |
| Your sign-in | Keeps you signed in to your account | 30 days |
| Your cookie choice | Remembers what you chose on the cookie banner, so it is not asked again | 182 days |
| Your conversation | Lets a question you asked without signing in find its answers again | 30 days |
| A saved promo code | Keeps a promo code you opened from an email link until you sign in | 14 days |
| Security | Protects sign-in and forms from being submitted by another site | Until you close your browser |
The light or dark theme you choose is kept in your browser's own storage rather than a cookie; it works the same way and is essential to showing the page as you asked.
Optional cookies — only if you accept
The cookie banner asks for your permission for two kinds:
- Analytics — how many people visit and which pages they use, so we can improve the shop.
- Advertising — measuring adverts and showing you more relevant ones.
Neither is set unless you press Accept all.
At the moment the shop sets no analytics cookies at all, whatever you choose.
At the moment the shop sets no advertising cookies, whatever you choose; this page will name them here if that changes.
Changing your mind
Press Cookie settings in the footer of any page to change your choice. Withdrawing your consent stops optional cookies being set from then on and removes any analytics cookies this shop set from your device; you can also delete cookies from your browser's settings.
Cookies set by others
When you pay, Stripe and PayPal set cookies of their own on their payment forms, for security and fraud prevention. Those are governed by their own cookie notices.
